🌿 A Corporate Earth Day Lunch That Honored the Land — and Fed 1,000 People
At Dee Wagner Events, sustainability isn’t a trend — it’s a commitment. And this Earth Day, we had the honor of putting that commitment into action at scale.
In partnership with a forward-thinking Bay Area company, we created a fully vegetarian lunch for over 1,000 employees, served in celebration of Earth Day. Every element of the experience — from the menu to the flowers — was a reflection of our values: local sourcing, seasonal abundance, and beautiful, low-impact design.
🥕 The Menu: 100% Vegetarian, 100% Local
We sourced the produce from Star Route Farms, one of the oldest continuously operating organic farms in Marin County. Known for their pristine greens and sustainable farming methods, Star Route provided the foundation for a menu that celebrated spring’s freshest flavors.
The menu included:
Beautiful Little Gems with edible flowers and toasted sunflower seeds
Pagoda pasta with flowering cilantro pesto, English peas and asparagus
Roasted baby carrots with toasted cumin seeds
Roasted baby golden beets
- A baked gratin featuring cauliflower, spinach, mushrooms, onions and garlic cream
No meat. No compromise on flavor.
🌸 The Flowers: Wild, Local, and Edible
In addition to the food, we designed all the florals — sourced from local growers and foraged from Marin hillsides. The arrangements featured:
Edible wild radish blossoms
Flowering cilantro
Herbs, greenery, and blooms from small, sustainable farms
Reusable vessels and no floral foam
The result was a visually stunning, waste-conscious installation that brought the outdoors in.
🌍 Why It Mattered
This event was more than a meal. It was a message: that feeding people well and respecting the planet can go hand in hand. It was an honor to collaborate with a client who shares our commitment to sustainability — and to serve a meal that fed both the body and the spirit.
